Close relationships without violence
A unique programme for the prevention of violence in close relationships, with the participation of leading Norwegian experts from Alternative to Violence and the Locika Centre. It is geared towards adolescents aged 13 to 20.
About the project
Basic information
- The programme is suitable for all primary and secondary schools. It is also suitable for children's homes, low-threshold centres and other social services working with adolescents.
- The aim of the programme is to transmit information, competence, openness on the topic of violence, to send a clear signal that violence cannot be approved and to gain corrective experience and motivation for change.
- The pillars of the programme are the awareness-raising film Home Sweet Home?, which presents the issue in an engaging way, and the accompanying booklet for pupils Proof of Love or Violence?. This workbook provides a basic insight into the issue and also includes exercises for reflection and discussion.
The use of the film Home Sweet Home?
- Home sweet home? is used in prevention and education. It offers a space to reflect and opens the topic of violence in partner relationships from different perspectives.
- The half-hour Danish film, adapted for the Czech environment, depicts the story of a seemingly well-functioning family in which the father is violent towards his partner and children. Broken family relationships, physical and psychological violence, denial of the problem, feelings of helplessness, despair, but also joyful moments and relief. These are typical situations of violence in close relationships.
- Our organization owns the rights to use the film in the Czech Republic. Graduates/trainees receive an access password to download the film and can use it in their practice.
- The film Home sweet home? with Czech dubbing is available by entering the password here or requesting access by emailing magdalena.olsanova@so-fa.cz. Training attendance is required for permission to download the film.
