Multidisciplinary mental health teams
We are the professional guarantor of the project, which aims to provide schools in the Kutná Hora region with long-term professional support in the field of education and well-being of children and teachers. Our focus is on children with mental health difficulties, special educational needs and other disadvantages. At the same time, we are piloting an effective and transferable solution for the entire Czech Republic, which will become an innovative and system-anchored professional support for schools.
About the project
What is the goal of the project
- Prevention and promotion of mental health of children and young people directly in the school and school settings.
- Awareness and destigmatisation of mental illness.
- Direct support for schools in the education of pupils with mental health problems, challenging behaviour, special educational needs, and those from socially or economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
- The transferring and implementation of the Neurosequential Model© into practice and sharing experiences with the professional community.
- Pilot testing of interdisciplinary support in school settings through two mental health teams in Zruč nad Sázavou and Kutná Hora.
SOFA cooperation
- As a professional guarantor, we are mainly involved in the development of methodologies, educational materials and programmes.
- We focus on strengthening the knowledge of teachers in the field of mental health and strengthening their competences in prevention and appropriate approach to children with mental health problems.
- We participate in organizing seminars, lectures and talks for educators.
- As part of Mental Health Weeks, we run a destigmatisation campaign for the general public.
